If you're seeing this message, it means an internet connection can't be established. Please make sure that your data or WiFi connection is working.
The most immediate solution is to go into your iOS settings and toggle your connections on and off.
If Kik still isn't connecting and you definitely have a strong WiFi or data connection, try force closing the app. On iPhone/iPod double click the Home button to bring up the bottom tray of apps > long press the apps to bring up the red 'close app' button. Then you can re-enter the app, and it should establish a connection.
